Avatar Perennial Ryegrass

Avatar is a very high yielding, late heading (+22 days) tetraploid perennial ryegrass bred for a combination of improved animal safety and persistence against insect pests. It has strong year-round growth performance. Its late heading date means more quality growth, when you need it, later into the spring season without compromising on winter and early spring yields. Avatar being a tetraploid, means more quality in every bite, which means more animal performance.
Available with CM142, NEA Endophyte and LE
-
Why use
Avatar is a high performing tetraploid perennial ryegrass with high DM production year-round and high metabolizable energy and digestibility. Suitable for dairy, sheep and beef farming systems where high yield, strong winter growth and high forage quality is required.
Avatar can be sown as a pure sward combined with clover, to maximise livestock performance with its increased ME and palatability or it can be sown as a mixed sward with a diploid like the new Stampede, Raider, Ultra or Matrix. It accommodates clovers very well due to its upright appearance and growth habit leaving room for a very high-quality sward.
